Overall I am quite happy with my final photos taken for 'I Me Mine'. Firstly, my idea to take photos of 'Places that mean something' has been quite an easy target, but being there at different times of day, with nicer weather or unuasual sightings such as the4 photo with rainbows is what really has been a success. The photos i managed to photograph were places of hobbies memories with family and friends from the past that had happened. A couple ended up giving the impression of the hobby rather than the place, such as the photo of the street at night, this was targeted at on old hobby 'exploring', which i took the photo low down. The lighting and colours also turned out how i'd liked with not much need for major manipulation, just mainly sorting the levels, or ajusting the curves to make the colours more vivid. Overall I am happy with the final result.

I Me Mine - Places/things that inspire me

Before any manipulation. The colours in this photo don't show how it was
a sunny day
Cropping

Curves are ajusted to make the image brighter, as well as bringing out the
colours. This makes the image seems more cheery, as well as bringing out the details
in the groyne more, such as textures and contrast between itself and the beach
The Final result. The higher contrast and brighness really brings out the
bright blue sea, and all it's details. This deffinatly makes the image more cheery and
more interesting to look at.

This image is the remaints of a house, which fell down the cliff into the
sea. The image looks pretty good how it is, there is not much need for alot of manipulation.
The image is cropped towards the remaints, mainly to show the main subject and cut out wasted and not interesting surroundings. It was also slightly brightended with contrast lowered, to remove the orange effect
which the camera captured slightly over the greens.
This image had a nice view of the scenery around
and along the beach. Although it was a clear sunny day, the camera made the whole
area look really dull and grey.

Here the contrast is brought up slightly, as well as brightness. The image is also
cropped to seem more landscape. It still seems quite dull, making the
day look cloudy.
Using curves, the beach has been completely brightened up to bring out the bright blue and make the scene
look sunny. The rocks and grass are also more bright and pleasurable, and the contrast is
also showing between the rocks a great deal more. I am overall happy with this photo, as the manipulation
has really made it seem more pleasurble and alot closer to the original experience.

This photo turned out like to be the one above, although taken on a clear day, turned out to be dull. one of the reasons i picked this photo is because the seas had a nice blues slightly emerged with green. there was also nice sways in the sand with pebbles.
here the photo is cropped to remove the large sandy bottom area and some of the left. The image is brightened.
Here the curves are edited bringing out the contrast and textures in the sea which make up the colours. the colours are also a lot more stronger which pulls out the blue colours of the sea which is the main aspect of the photo.

the finished version slightly cropped to the bottom and slightly brighter sky.
Here there is a picture of a beach with a colourful town in the distance. I thought this
would be a good idea to try and capture this as landscape or postcard photography.

Keeping the colours natural the contrast has barley been ajusted, with only
the photo brightened up to bring out the sunny areas. The photo has also been cropped to look more landscape too taking most of the bottom and top areas off, and preserving the buildings.

Here i thought of producing something more quirky and interesting.  The beach huts are colourful although they do seem small in the image and slightly far off.
Here using the automatic select tool the background has been made completely black and white, making the image more unique. The beach huts have been left coloured.
Using levels the contrast is brought out bringing out the huts, and also the contrast between the wall, stairs and sand.

Hopes, fears and memories

Fears, will i get where i want to be? I sometimes worry about
what i'm achiving. is it good enough? should i have done better?

Picture before manipulation. quite dull without contrast. This
image represents the options at a college.
image is made brighter, bringing out the paper better. the words are
also seen more clearly.
image is cropped to remove unwanted colours each side. the curves are also
ajusted, making the colours more strong
image is cropped and levels are ajusted which also brought out the whiteness of the paper
contrasting with the words making it more sharp.

Hopes

I hope to travel to nice places around the world, or just in this country. I like to
discover new places and enjoy visiting them

This image represents the idea of 'traveling' in which it
includes the globe. I't could also be based upon that
i like geography and study it as a GCSE.
Levels and curves are ajusted, levels bringing true colours out
and curves ajusting the brightness, this was only applyed to the
globe. The background was made black and white using the quick select tool.
The final result, image is brightened which brings everything out more, the contrast is also
impoved.

This image supports the fact that i would like to travel to
a nice place with good weather, with it's blue sky and strong
green grass including buttercups. i didn't think this photo was
in need of much manipulation as the colours were already
full of contrast and shadows. The image is also
meant to display a natrual setting. I also have many memories
of going camping in areas similar to this.
Here the curves were ajusted as well as levels.
The image is cropped, removing partially the out of focus close up grass. The image
colours are made slightly brighter looking at the previous versions. This removes the high contrast and
makes the scene look slightly more relaxing for your eyes to look at

Memories

This is a bundle of old photos including me when i was little. There is also
other family members

photomontage

this collage was created by taking a few photos of different parts of a same corner. firstly all the
photos are put into photoshop, then a clear a4 sheet is made, in which all the images are put on. All images are re-scaled using the transform tool >scale, then dragged so they overlap and images merge. The image on the left was made using transform > skew tool, in which it could be tilted to fit roughly with the other.

This one, made using the automate feature, then photomerge.  The images are simply selected then photoshop merges them together automatically. There are a variety of options on how you would like it, this using the collage option.

photo before manipulation
Remote control car, one of my most biggest possessions
Is one of my hobbies when going outside and

much i used to like cars when i was smaller as
a reminder.

Levels are ajusted, as you can see makes the image very
slightly brighter
curves are ajusted to the 's' shape, bringing out contrast
and brightness
image is cropped removing the left slightly and bottom

Image is made black and white
image is cropped once again removing more
of the bottom, left and top.
